This series was an ad project for the Kansas City Artist Coalition(KCAC) for the 2019 Fundraising Gala. KCAC is a Nonprofit alternative space featuring exhibitions of contemporary works from local emerging artists in Kansas City. These finished designs ran in local editorial magazines and were used on postcards and flyers.
Our first shoot was to photograph the paint brushes in various directions and styles to give a variety of looks to work with for the 'clothing'. I worked with Wlaa and Jarod to decide on how the bushes would be best represented. The second shoot was with our wonderful models. They were photographed in nude undergarments so that we could composite the brushes on top of them. Wlaa worked with Cee our makeup artist to choose sleek hair and fun but natural makeup to prepare for the final looks. After the photoshoots, my retoucher and master compositor Natalie at High Heart Creative took over and started playing with different variations on proofs I provided. Once finalized I sent over the final images for her to master up. Once those images were complete Jarod took the reigns and finished off with the design elements, which is what we put out for the ad.
